Cubillas' double-double lands him Liga MB Player of the Week award

31-year old Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-F-1994) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked San Salvador BC and receives a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 9.
He had a double-double of 40 points and 16 rebounds, while his team beat Salvadorenos (#7, 3-5) 62-48. San Salvador is placed at 2nd position in Salvadorean Liga MB. They are still close to the very top. San Salvador would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 6-1 record. In the team's last game Cubillas had a remarkable 73.7% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be San Salvador's top player in his first season with the team. Cubillas has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 25.4ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 18.1rpg) and averages solid 2.7bpg,2.3spg and 69.3% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Darnell Johnson (201-G) of Independiente. He is American guard in his first season at Independiente. In the last game Johnson recorded an impressive double-double of 36 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Independiente was edged by the higher-ranked Santa Tecla (#4, 5-3) 103-100. This loss caused Independiente to drop to 9th position in the standings. 5 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Independiente managed to get this year. Johnson is a newcomer at Independiente and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.9ppg (#4). His other stats are also decent: 14.1rpg and 3.4apg.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Nick Moore (198-PF-1991) of ITD Santa Tecla BC (#4). Moore showcased his all-around game by recording 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Santa Tecla, leading his team to a 75-64 win against Brujos (#11, 0-8). Santa Tecla needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 3 lost games. Moore has a great season in El Salvador. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.5rpg (7th best). He also has 1.9bpg and a FGP of 56.7%.
